I discovered Hypnobabies during my pregnancy while looking for a comprehensive childbirth-preparation program. Hypnobabies combines hypnosis with education about pregnancy, baby positioning, nutrition, exercise, common obstetrical interventions, the stages of birth, and newborn care.We chose a Hypnobabies childbirth-preparation series that met for three hours a week for six weeks. It was a commitment, but learning so much about pregnancy, childbirth, and hypnosis felt empowering. Hypnobabies also offers a home-study option for parents who need more flexibility.After completing my formal doula training, I became certified as a Hypnobabies Hypno-Doula. Hypnobabies doulas are familiar with the program’s philosophy, techniques, cue words, and materials. Like other experienced doulas, they can communicate with hospital caregivers and support your choices during your baby’s birth.The birthing person still needs to complete the Hypnobabies course and practice the hypno-tools every day. As a Hypno-Doula, I support that preparation, but I cannot replace the full training.
